Ibid Projects presents their third exhibition with Riga-based painter Janis Avotins. He is one of the most significant artists to have emerged from the Baltic region in the last decade. Avotins work at first glance appears to be a washed block of colour, but on closer inspection shaded melancholic figures emerge from the canvas. It is Avotins most comprehensive exhibition in the UK to date and each piece is given space to breath which really increases its impact on the visual senses and compliments the work with their ominous sense of void.
